Over 90 people, Principal Scott Wihongi included, attended Murray High’s last book club meeting, making it the biggest turnout of the year!

“Good Vs. Evil” was the theme of the final meeting.

Breakfast was an assortment of muffins provided by Tracy Black, a member of our PTA. Prizes included gift cards for local eateries, books, and miscellaneous games.

After breakfast was served, some students delivered book talks about the books they read. Caleb Black, junior,  talked about the book, Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians by local author Brandon Sanderson, the author of fan favorite, Steelheart.

“Reading is important, it takes the mind off school,” says Book Club president Beth Laver.

This is the last year of her presidency. “I’m sad to be leaving,” she says. “I love it.”

Because this was the last meeting of the year, Spartans won’t have another chance to attend a book club until next year.

“Sacrifice” is the theme of the first meeting next fall.

So get reading, and be sure to attend the next book club in the fall of 2018.
