The floor is set, the lights are ready, and so is Murray High School’s Dance Company.  This year Dance Company will be holding a dance concert called “A Winter’s Night”.

The performance will be held at Murray High’s auditorium at 7:00 pm on the 6th and 7th of December.  You can purchase tickets either at the door or through one of the Dance Company members for 5 dollars.

The young women who make up this company will be performing 17 dances.  The opening and closing number have been choreographed by their instructor Leesa Lloyd and the rest of the dances were choreographed by some of their own dancers.

They have been working very hard on this Concert and have put many early morning and late night practices in to make sure this concert is going to be a success.

Miss. Lloyd says the dances this year are very diverse in stylistic approach and is excited to see how the concert comes together.

However, the Winter Concert isn’t the only thing that Dance Company has been working on.  They were featured in the musical “Annie” that was put on by the Theatre department at Murray High.  The girls were dancing as orphans, Rockettes, maids and homeless people.

Now that the Musical is over and the Winter concert is nearing its performance date, the girls are getting ready to tryout their spring concert choreography.

For every concert, each dancer must choreograph at least four dances to tryout.  Miss. Lloyd then sits through all of the auditions and chooses which dances she wants to be in the concert.

The dancers this year are very hard workers and are determined to make this concert one of the best.

Make sure to stop by the auditorium this 6th and 7th of December to see a great show.
