National Honors Society (NHS) what you need to join.

The National Honors Society is an organization to recognize outstanding high school students who have shown great dedication in school, leadership, service, and character.  If you have had great scholarship and want to be recognized for it, this is a good way to go.

NHS has Monthly meetings, community service, and volunteering activities. NHS students must embody the standard of their scholarship, Citizenship, service, and Leadership that NHS promotes and requires of all its members. Applications can be filled out and turned in during the spring (during fourth term). The eligible seniors may apply in the fall (during second term).

What you must have to be eligible for NHS

Maintain a 3.7 GPA or higher during your senior year and not have any “U’s” in citizenship.  You have to be willing to start vounenteering in your community on a regular basis if you don’t already. Every member must perform 4 hours of community service each term during the school year. You also have to be able to attend monthly meetings before school. If you have any questions, feel free to ask Ms. Moore in room 213.
