Monday, April 16 marked the end of Vice Principal Theresa Mbaku’s time here at Murray High School.

Coming up on the end of her 4th year here, Mbaku has decided to take a once in a lifetime opportunity to become the Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE), for Salt Lake City School District. “Positions like these don’t come often,”she remarked.

Before coming to Murray, Mbaku did it all. She taught Business and Computer Sciences in both Salt Lake City and Atlanta, Georgia.

She has also been a yearbook advisor, and a librarian. She truly is a woman of many talents.

Mbaku says she is going to miss the dances, working with the drill and cheer teams, and graduation the most. “I love the dances,” she said with a smile on her face. “Graduation is always a favorite.” She always enjoyed watching the kids she worked with succeed.

“It wasn’t an easy decision, but I feel like I can still impact students,” says Mbaku.

Mbaku has impacted many students in her four years here, and it’s safe to say she will impact many more with her new job.
